I rehomed Harlan a few years back. He was a wonderful horse on the track and has had the very best home filled with love and great training.
From his owner:
As much as it breaks my heart Harlan needs a new home. He is broke and knows the barrel pattern but due to arthritis and a chip in his ankle he can NOT run barrels. The vet says he is sound to a flex but because of the arthritis the turns required to run barrels is to much for that ankle and would be better suited for a low impact career. Harlan is broke really nicely, and will do anything you ask him to do, you can gallop and as soon as you say whoa he will stop, drop his head and walk calmly anywhere you want to go. Harlan will be stand offish when he first meets someone but once he knows you he is a cuddle bug who wants love and attention but not in a pushy obnoxious way. He has good feet and is barefoot with no problems. Harlan has been treated for hind gut ulcers and will be sent to his new home with a refilled prescription of sucralafate to help with the transition of a new home. I am asking $1500 for him but the only thing that matters to me is that he goes to a loving home to someone that will take care of and love him so the price is very negotiable. If it is a perfect home I would be willing to give him to you for free but only if I feel you are a perfect home for him. References will be required.
