I got this guy for myself and he was suppose to be around 15hh.... he is 13.3/14hh on his tip toes. Which is fine, I would just feel guilty riding him on long trails as I am by no means tiny.
Jenga was a former husband horse that just followed along with other horses on the trails.. that is all he did before coming to me. He will ride out on trails by himself, but that's obviously a new thing to him.
He hasn't had any kind of arena work until us, but seems to be learning well (at first it seemed like there was no steering)
He definitley did not do a lot of cantering in his former home but WILL canter out on the trails ... he is not confident or balanced enough yet to canter in the arena for us.
His canter needs work, plain and simple. There is no buck or naughtiness he just hasn't had a lot of catering under his belt.
He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. No vices. No bumps or lumps. Good feet. As far as I know he's been barefoot for a long time and is still barefoot. Gets along with all other horses in the field and he is an easy keeper. Loads/trailers well. Stands in cross ties, stands to get a bath and even let us clip the hair around his hooves with no problem.
He could be a fancy kids pony with time on him but I would NOT just throw a kid on him now. He needs more training.
Tons of potential. He's a pretty stout guy!
Light mouth, very responsive. He's never going to run off with you, that's for sure.
Good ground manners, stands to be mounted from the ground.
UTD on everything. Feet just trimmed. Wormed.
