Charlie broke his hind sesamoid back in 2022 and unfortunately during recovery the incision got infected leaving a nasty scar tissue through his back leg (please see pics) He went through the healing process and then we turned him out and allowed him to be a horse for awhile and just live life. You guys, this horse deserves the world. He is safe. He is kind. He is just an amazing animal. Yes, he has limitations. He needs a light work home and to be honest he doesn't really enjoy being in the arena BUT he loves trails and will ride out alone or with a friend. Pictures attached in the link above is when we had him cleaned up.... since his manes grown out and he has just been hanging out.
I have had this horse almost 2 years and it is because I wanted to make sure he was going to be okay AND because I wanted to make sure he found himself a loving family.
A vet reference will be required... I can promise you if you aren't on a first name basis with your vet then it will not be good enough.
Charlie is currently barefoot and fine but if planning on rougher terrain trails I would probably put front shoes on him. He has been ridden western, english, and bareback. Today we followed him on the trails on the side by side because I had my youngest daughter with me who is 2. As you can see he was as calm and cool as a horse comes. Gets along with every horse you put him with, he will never fight anyone.... he WILL get beat up by other horses though and is very low man/mind his own business.
NO vices or behavioral issues.
I have no further information on his leg.. it's simply a scar tissue from infection while his sesamoid was healing after surgery.
